Performance

Rumba Orisha have performed at Womad, the Barbican, V&A museum, SOAS University of London, Tabernacle Theatre, Green Room Theatre, Caribbean Carnival of Manchester, St Donats International Storytelling Festival, Oxford Literary Festival. the British Museum and elsewhere.

Our first performance was in 1998 when we designed a community float playing Afrocuban music for the Caribbean Carnival of Manchester. A year later we brought over from Cuba renowned ritual singer and percussionist Amelia Pedroso. With the assistance of the North West Arts board we performed in London and Manchester and were critically noted by the Guardian newspaper, Time Out and City Life magazines.

Recent gigs include a night the V & A Museum for their Sagrado y Secreto evening of sacred music from around the Diaspora. We continue to perform in schools, colleges and music venues around Britain.
